PHYSIOLOGICAL, MORPHOLOGICAL AND BIOCHEMICAL INDICES OF YOUNG CULTIVATED CALVES OF THE VOLYN MEAT BREED UNDER THE USE OF PROBIOTICS

Farafonov S.Zh.

Summary. Purpose of the research was to establish the influence of Baikal EM-1U on productive, physiological, morphological and biochemical blood indices of bull calves of Volyn meat breed. Two groups of 40 bull calves of Volyn breed of the age of 10 months were formed for the experiments. Baikal EM-1U was given to the animals of the first group with feed. At the beginning of the studies blood morphological indices were not significantly different in groups, but the number of leukocytes in the treated group was lower by 10.8%. Prolonged use of Baikal EM-1U had a positive effect on blood biochemical indices due to the results in the experimental group. Total protein level, calcium and phosphorus increase by 4.5%, 11.3% and 19.1%, respectively, was established in the sera from the animals of the experimental group. In this case, the carotene content in the treated group was 60.5%. Authors proved that daily average additional weights of calves of the experimental group, which within 3 months were treated with Baikal EM-1U, were higher in comparison with the control group.

Keywords: probiotic, bacteria, strain, concentrated feed, large-horned cattle, bull-calves, Volyn meat breed, preparation Baikal EM – 1U, physiological and morphological blood indices, biochemical blood indices.
