Abstract. There are known facts of enhancing the immune response and stimulating the indicators of nonspecific resistance of animals and birds when they are prescribed antibiotics. For a number of years, NCZSRVI has been working on the creation of new anti-infective compounds of non-antibiotic origin. As alternatives to antibiotics, surfactants are offered, among others: fatty acid amides (lauric acid, palmitic acid, myristic acid, oleic acid, stearic acid and their derivatives) in the form of salts with organic and mineral acids and derivatives of epoxidized soybean oil. The experiment provided for the administration of drugs to two experimental groups of chickens in two cycles of 7 days with a break of 7 days between them. Studies have shown that the addition of surfactants of a number of fatty acid amides (an aqueous solution of hydrochloric acid salt 3-dimethylaminopropylamide of myristic acid amide) and a derivative of epoxidized soybean oil to the diet increases the safety of poultry and does not adversely affect growth rates. During the period of evaporation of surfactant 726 and surfactant 29 solutions, the general condition of the chickens was assessed as satisfactory, no appetite disorders were noted, intestinal dysfunction was not observed, no general toxic reaction was observed, and the live weight of chickens in all groups was close to equal. The research results indicate the positive effect of new surfactants on the resistance of young chickens. Nonspecific protection of the animal body is provided by cellular and humoral factors. Humoral factors include, among others, the bactericidal activity of blood serum (BABS). It was determined that the BABS of chickens from the experimental groups was slightly higher than in the control groups: when drinking surfactant 29 by 2.1%; when drinking surfactant 726 by 3.4%, which is not statistically significant (P < 0.95). This means that the new surfactants do not significantly affect the level of bactericidal activity in chicken blood serum.

Keywords: surfactants, myristic acid amide hydrochloride, epoxidized soybean oil, bactericidal activity of blood serum, preservation of chickens.
