Summary. Scientific articles that study modern approaches in the use of toxic sugar baits against harmful arthropods were analyzed by the author. According to modern literature sources, attractive toxic sugar baits are being investigated worldwide as an alternative tool for the use of insecticides to control harmful insects. According to various authors, such baits can be successfully used to deliver to the the insect organism a new class of insecticides - small interfering RNAs against Aedes albopictus, Aedes aegypti, Anopheles gambiae, and Culex quinquefasciatus with 87±1% effeciency. There are also studies on the mortality of up to 100% of adult insects Aedes aegypti, Aedes albopictus and Culex quinquefasciatus using the microorganisms Bacillus thuringiensis israelensis in the composition of sugar baits. Mortality by more than 90% of mosquitoes Cx. quinquefasciatus, Aedes j. japonicus, Ae. Aegypti, Anopheles gambiae was noted in the experiments with boric acid or chlorphenapyr, or tolfenpyrade, or dinotefuran. To prevent the effect of development or already formed resistance in insects, formulations of binary baits are used. So, the combination of chlorphenapyr, fipronil, ivermectin, acetamiprid showed its efficiency against the natural population of Musca domestica L. at the level of 91.25-97.1%. Mortality by 99% in Cx. quinquefasciatus mosquitoes was noted using the combination of microencapsulated garlic oil with a solution of boric acid. Systemic insecticidal effect of baits with boric acid or eugenol and insect growth regulator pyriproxifen was noted at the level of 60-100% when applied to plants Codiaeum variegatum L., Atriplex lentiformis, Tanzarix ramosissima and Pluchea sericea against mosquitoes Aedes albopictus, Anopheles sergentii, Culex tarsalis and Culex quinquefasciatus. It was established that the refinement of ketanserin in the composition of preparations allows to increase the consumption of toxic sugar bait in ants Camponotus spp.
