Summary. Compounds with antiprotozoic activity were found among synthesized by the authors organic substances of benzimidazole, imidazole and other nitrogenous heterocyclic and aliphatic substances in carried-out-researches in the North Caucasian Zonal Scientific-Research Veterinary Institute in 2021-2022. The compounds were synthesized using both well-known methods of organic compounds synthesis described in numerous manuals and methods developed by the authors. Mass death of young animals occurs at eimeriosis (coccidiosis) in the absence of therapeutic and prophylactic measures (in chickens and rabbits it reaches 80.0100.0%). Treatment for this disease is aimed at suppressing endogenous stages of eimeriasis, i.e. merozoites and schizonts. Unfortunately, antibiotics, sulfonamides and nitrofurans lost their anticoccidial activity in the 1980s. The reason for this was the development of drug resistance in Eimeridae. A new direction of drug development will be able to reduce the acuteness of the problem of drug resistance in parasites. In the opinion of the authors, such direction of synthesis and screening will be compounds of non-antibiotic origin. More than 200 new organic compounds of benztiophene, quinoxaline, halogen containing imidazole systems, pyridine and nitropyridine derivatives and other nitrogenous heterocyclic compounds were synthesized in the North Caucasian Zonal Scientific-Research Veterinary Institute. High antibacterial and antistocidal activity of more than 30 compounds with minimum inhibitory concentrations of 62.5-0.24 pg/ml was established.

Keywords: farm animals, poultry, eimeriosis, merozoite, schizont, drug resistance, protistocidal activity, antiprotozoal drugs, nitropyridine derivatives, benzthiophene derivatives.
