Study of etiology and pathogenesis of acute postnatal endometritis of bacterial and bacterial-mycosis etiology in cows

Summary. The article presents research data to clarify the main etiological factors of the emergence of acute postpartum endometritis of bacterial and bacterial-mycotic etiology and the mechanism of its occurrence. According to the data obtained, the main etiological factor in the occurrence of nonspecific acute postpartum endometritis is bacterial microflora and fungi. E. coli (30%), C. albicans (18%), а- and в-hemolytic streptococci (15%), S. aureus (10.4%) are most often isolated from cows with endometritis. Monocultures were isolated in 61.7%, associations of microorganisms - 39.3%, including associations of microorganisms with fungi were isolated in 24.6%. The most frequently (2537.5%) associations were recorded: E. coli + K. pneumonia + S. aureus, E. coli + K. cryocrescens + E. agglomerans, P. mirabilis + K. cryocrescens, E. coli + C. albicans, K. pneumonia + C. albicans. The predisposing factors for the development of endometritis is a violation of the technology of keeping and feeding, leading to a decrease in the natural resistance of animals, as a result of which favorable conditions arise for reproduction and pathological effects of bacterial and fungal microflora that penetrates into the birth canal after calving. When studying the mechanism of the emergence and development of endometritis of bacterial-mycotic etiology in 2 series of acute experiments conducted on white outbred rats, it was found that when microflora enters the genital tract of pregnant animals, endometritis does not develop, but occurs only if microflora enters after childbirth.
