Summary. Rabbits are farm animals with a unique feature of the physiology of digestion (the presence of cecotrophophagy). But their need for vitamins is practically not studied. The purpose of the scientific study is to establish the peculiarities of vitamin metabolism in the body of young rabbits during dry feeding. In the balance experiment on young rabbits of the Soviet chinchilla breed, the content of vitamins recommended for accounting in full-fledged granular compound feed, feces, liver and caecum chyme was determined using modern research methods. The coefficients of digestibility of individual vitamins by young rabbits and the factors affecting them were established. The results of the experiments indicate that the enrichment of complete granulated compound feed for rabbits with synthetic vitamins leads to an increased content of the latter in feces. The content of water-soluble vitamins in the chyme of the rabbit caecum is several times higher than their level in the feed. The peculiarities of the physiology of rabbit digestion call into question the need to enrich animal feed for young animals with synthetic vitamins.
