Summary. Retrospective assessment results of the epizootic situation on chronic infectious diseases of large horned cattle in the Republic of Dagestan in 2013-2020 are presented in the article. The number of unfavorable points, cases of the disease and the coefficient of focality are indicated, the administrative-territorial distribution of leukemia, brucellosis and tuberculosis on the territory of the subject is displayed. According to the official statistics, since 2002 the region has been considered free from tuberculosis, however, isolated foci of the disease are registered in the form of sporadic cases, without a tendency of wide territorial spread. At present, a tense epizootic situation with viral bovine leukemia and brucellosis of large horned cattle remains in the republic, new foci continue to be registered every year. So, brucellosis and bovine leukemia are the overwhelming majority in terms of the number of epizootic foci and sick animals registered in them among all infectious diseases of large horned cattle registered during the analyzed period. It is not yet possible to achieve the complete elimination of chronic infectious diseases, but it is quite possible to control changes of the epizootic situation, to reduce its tension, using real data of epizootic monitoring for this purpose. In this regard, the risk of chronic infectious diseases among large horned cattle predetermines the need of systematic monitoring and careful analysis of the epizootic situation. The presence on the territory of the subject of unidentified animal carriers of chronic infections creates an epizootic situation that is difficult to control and complicates the implementation of preventive and recreational activities.

Keywords: large horned cattle, chronic diseases, epizootic situation, focus of the disease, leucosis, brucellosis, tuberculosis, monitoring, health improvement, Republic of Dagestan.
