Prazimed A effect on protein metabolism in dogs at experimental echinococcosis

Summary. The authors clarified Prasimed A effect on protein metabolism indices in dogs at experimental echinococcosis. Prasimed A test was carried out by the method of individual application, once in doses of 5.0, 7.5 and 10.0 mg/kg of body weight, mixed with minced meat, on 12 outbred dogs 7-10 months in accordance with the methodology of experimental work and the International Standards for Humane Treatment of Animals. It has been established that echinococcosis invasion negatively affects the dynamics of protein metabolism in the organism of dogs. According to the results of the experiments, it was confirmed that indices of extensive and intensity efficiency on the 5th day were 100% in dogs during Prasimed A use at experimental echinococcosis at the dose of 10.0 mg/kg of live weight. In the next 7, 10 days of research, no taeniid-type eggs were found in the feces. The biochemical composition of the blood serum of dogs before the treatment of echinococcosis with Prasimed A was characterized by a lower content of total protein, which, on average, was 41.59±2.97 g/l (serum albumins and globulins, respectively, 15.83±1.10 g/l and 25.76±1.87 g/l). All this confirms the violation of protein metabolism during the invasion of echinococcosis. After the injection of Prasimed A at a dose of 10.0 mg/kg of live weight, the biochemical composition of the blood serum of dogs was optimized for total protein and, on average, amounted to 64.50±4.70 g/l (serum albumins and serum globulins 24.13±1.64 g/l and 40.37±3.06 g/l, respectively, which corresponded to physiological norms on the 10th day of the experiment).
