Summary. Massive respiratory diseases of calves, causing significant economic damage are one of the urgent problems of modern animal husbandry. They are massive, stationary, are characterized by high incidence of calves (90100%), widespread circulation of infectious agents have a direct negative impact on the growth of production and the quality of livestock products. Despite the achievements of veterinary science and the introduction of effective antiviral vaccines into practice, the situation with respiratory diseases in young cattle remains difficult. Of great importance in the occurrence of respiratory diseases in calves are unfavorable factors that contribute to a decrease in the overall resistance of the body (stress, environmental conditions, the introduction of non-immune animals into the formed groups, violation of the technology of growing and feeding). Currently, studies on the impact of the immunodeficiency state of bovine leukemia virus-infected calves on the development of various diseases are not sufficiently covered. Bovine leukemia refers to slow infections with a long preclinical period, with impossible self-healing and inevitable death of the animal. The course of the leukemic process occurs against the background of serious disorders of the immune mechanisms, especially the parameters of the cellular system. Authors studied the effect of infection with the bovine leukemia virus on the main indicators of the organism's resistance to diseases of the respiratory tract. According to the results of the study of immunobiological parameters in calves with respiratory diseases of viral and bacterial etiology, obtained from mothers infected with VLCR, a more severe course of the pathological process of an inflammatory nature was established, with suppression of the immune system, negative changes in the picture of red and white blood, mineral metabolism.
