Summary

Areas with marked accumulation of radionuclides and heavy metals in the organs and tissues of animals were identified as a result of technogenic accidents and high concentration of industrial enterprises in the Urals region. Immunodeficiency characterized mainly by inhibition of cellular and humoral immunity developed at high levels of accumulation of toxins in the animals.

Authors suggested number of measures aimed at reducing the negative effects of the environment on the body of farm animals (especially cattle), allowing them to maintain a healthy physiological level. Complex comprises reduce of intake of vegetable foods with radionuclides, heavy metals and other toxic substances by radiation protectors and adsorbents, including the polysaccharides and natural minerals, correction of immune system with immune modulators, well planned antiepizootic measures and other methods.

Implementation of these measures can reduce the accumulation of toxins in the body and improve the adaptation of animals to adverse environmental factors.

Key words: monitoring, ecotoxicants, technological accidents, immune system, cellular immunity, humoral immunity, quality of animal health.
